  1. Add a new role: the Forensic

    A village role, similar to the Gravedigger. This person can visit dead players as well. Instead of revealing their role, the Forensic can identify the cause of death.
    Basically, it tells the Forensic exactly how that person has died (distinguishing lynch, wolf kill, vampire kill, militia kill, huntsman kill (counts for HM himself and for the killer), and witch kill).
    I guess I don't have to explain how this information can help village.

      You know how you can look at the player list and your own name is in green? How about having the number of votes for whomever you voted for also be in green? It allows the player to easily see what would go down if they changed their vote. It would also let you see if you may get smited!

          The Saboteur is a coven role who works in the village administration, he is the civil servant of your nightmares. He can sabotage the voting administration systems and erase a player from the system.

          A certain amount of times (my first guess would be 2) the Saboteur can choose a player who then loses his voting power. Either he cannot press vote buttons anymore or his votes simply do not carry weight. The target will or will not be informed about being erased from the system - my suggestion is that he would not be informed.

          • Clarify the Lycan Character Type

            On the web page, the description of the Lycan mentioned that they suffer a mild form of lycanthropy and the Seer sees them as a werewolf. What it doesn't mention is that the Lycan DOESN'T KNOW they are a Lycan.

            As a new player, I assure you that this would be handy to mention.

              The Alchemist is a villager aligned role with the one-time ability to reveal a werewolf to the entire group via tincture. The Alchemist chooses a player to use the tincture on at night, and if they are a wolf, the tincture glows and the wolf's identity is revealed in the morning(The Alchemist has revealed X as a wolf!). If the Alchemist chooses to reveal a player who is a villager, there is no reveal.

                  Who: Similar to ToS Blackmailer.

                  How it can be implemented:
                  Typical Blackmailer's role usually sided with one evil faction. Make him the hoodlum for hire. He will silence anyone on order and only take order from a certain role that could activate the ability to hire him. It may not be a new role but current role with an additional ability. First come first serve. (Can be amended and also the first intro during special game without anyone knowledge of what it is)

                  Win condition: Win with the employer.

                  Players effect: Blood pressure goes up with additional chaos role.

                    i think the moderator messages should either be a different colour or font or perhaps a darker background or something, they get lost in the chat.

                      The Possessor is informed of the target's activities that night.                         The apprentice would be a Coven role in which the Apprentice would start with no ability. However, if they visit a fellow (living) coven 3 nights during the game. After the third visit, the Apprentice now becomes an additional role of visited coven member.

                        They cannot visit dead coven members and if the coven member dies before the 3 visits dies or if the apprentice decides to switch which coven member they visit, Then the visits reset (or accumulate, depending on the mods preference.)

                          Another coven role that has one-time ability to revive a dead player. I'm not sure yet about the details, so I've laid out some options. The revived player is called the Returned (a name I stole from Diablo II).

                            A coven role which has the ability to target a player every night and link his soul to the target's soul. Linked souls are now dependent on each other's survival, and if one dies the other will die as well (just like 'the Lovers' from the card game).

                            The VM can only link to one person, but he may choose another person each night. The link is only established between the VM and the last person linked to.

                            I think it's interesting to inform a person that he/she is linked to, and perhaps also that he/she is no longer linked…

                                      A villager which is a paralel to the lycan. While the Cursed is aligned with village, he comes up as coven in seer checks. You could even screw up the game by saying that all village-aligned people are cursed, and therefore the seer can only distinguish wolf from non-wolf.

                                          I always find it a shame when people go inactive in the game, I try to vet people before the game starts but it's not always possible. It's also my opinion that silent players don't make for very interesting games.

                                          I'm considering changing the "inactivity check" for 24 hour games.

                                          1) Remove the activity log at the start of the day (but keeping it in, behind the scenes)
                                          2) Changing the classification of an active player to include at least one message sent
                                          3) Automatically smiting players that are flagged as inactive for 2 consecutive days and revealing their roles.
